Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly 11 Elite FG Firm Ground Soccer Cleats - White/White/Hyper Pink

• Flyknit upper with a NikeSkin strike layer for a flat, fast ball
• Three-quarter Zoom Air unit that fires back on hard cuts
• FG chevron plate built for dry, cut-up natural grass
• Bone white body with Hyper Pink at the Swoosh and heel

There is a certain type of player who still treats a white boot as a statement, and this Superfly 11 Elite is aimed squarely at them. The upper runs bone-white from the collar all the way through the forefoot, which means the only colour on the entire shoe is the Hyper Pink bleeding out of the Swoosh, wrapping the heel counter and flashing off two of the forefoot studs. Under floodlights on a wet pitch it reads almost grey until you accelerate, and then the pink lands. It is not a loud boot, it is a cold one.

None of that matters if the ride is wrong, and here the ride is the whole story. That Flyknit upper carries a thin NikeSkin layer across the strike zone, so the ball leaves the instep fast and flat instead of sitting on the foot, and the difference shows up in driven passes you would normally overcook. Plant hard for a cut on dry natural grass and the three-quarter Zoom Air unit under the forefoot compresses, then snaps back with a kinetic pop you feel through the midfoot rather than the toes, which is exactly what you want when you are chasing a ball into the channel at minute eighty-five.

Now the part nobody wants to read: this is a narrow boot. The midfoot cage does not stretch the way the old Vaporposite did, and if you have anything close to a wide forefoot you will feel the Flyknit pressing on the outside of your little toe for the first three or four sessions. Go half a size up if you sit between sizes, and do not expect the collar or the upper to give you more than a couple of millimetres of forgiveness. The FG plate is a dry-grass tool and nothing else, so if your season is mostly 3G, look elsewhere.
