Adidas F50 Elite FG Firm Ground Soccer Cleats - White/Cloud White/Lucid Blue

• Fibertouch upper skins the ball on contact
• Sprintframe 360 plate keeps weight near 205 g
• Hybrid V-stud layout for dry natural grass
• Snug, tapered cut - wide feet size up

The F50 badge still means something. Twenty years after the original turned up with a carbon sole and a price tag that made parents wince, adidas has kept the silhouette lean and the attitude loud, and this White / Cloud White / Lucid Blue drop leans harder into that archive than anything since 2014. Cloud White covers most of the upper, Lucid Blue snaps along the Three Stripes and the heel counter, and under a floodlight it reads as clean rather than loud - which is exactly the point when your full-back is the one who is supposed to be flashy.

On the ball the Fibertouch skin is the star. It is not the sticky, rubberised tack you get on some control boots; it is a thin, slightly matte film that lets the ball sink a fraction before it leaves, so a firm pass on dry natural grass comes off flat and predictable. The Sprintweb cage through the midfoot is doing quiet work here - the upper compresses around the arch on a hard cut instead of sliding, and the Sprintframe 360 soleplate is stiff enough through the middle that you feel the energy return when you push out of a turn rather than losing it into the ground. Weight sits around 205 g in a UK 8.5, which is not the lightest thing adidas has ever built, but the mass lives in the soleplate, so once you are moving your feet forget it.

Now the warning. The last is genuinely narrow and low over the toes, and if you have a wide forefoot or a high instep you will feel the upper pressing down on the top of your foot inside twenty minutes. Go half a size up, or accept that you are buying a sprint shoe and not a comfort shoe. The studs are long and aggressive, so keep them for firm ground only.
