Pull these out of the box and the Sunset Pink does something most pink boots do not - it darkens through the midfoot instead of fading away to white, so at speed the whole shoe reads as one solid block of colour. The Iridescent Violet heel is the only interruption, and it only shows itself when the floodlights hit at the right angle. On the pitch the F50 Hyperfast Elite behaves like a sprinting shoe first and a football boot second; the Fibertouch upper is so thin across the toes that you can feel the seam of the ball through it, which is either the entire point or an instant dealbreaker depending on what you grew up playing in.

Firm ground here means Sprintplate 360 with a fairly dense forefoot stud cluster, and on dry, tight natural grass the bite is immediate - you plant, you turn, nothing slides. What surprised me is how little the plate gives: there is a stiff spine running down the middle that barely flexes under the arch, so long sprints feel efficient while the first twenty minutes of a session feel genuinely harsh until your feet adapt. Striking the ball is a clean, low-cushion sensation; the upper snaps back rather than absorbing the impact, which is exactly why the F50 line has always been a striker's boot and never a defender's.

Now the part that matters more than any of the above - the fit is properly narrow and the synthetic does not stretch the way a knit does. I went true to size and got a proper race-fit, but anyone with a wide forefoot or a high instep should go half a size up or shop elsewhere. Heel lock is excellent once you are in, and the lacing runs slightly off-centre to clear the strike zone, so there is a touch more pressure on the outside of the midfoot than you would expect. Give them two or three sessions to settle and they are superb; pull them straight out of the box for a cup final and you will be thinking about your feet at minute seventy.
