Adidas F50 Pro Laceless TF Artificial Turf Soccer Shoes - Turquoise/Mint Green/Electric Purple

• Laceless F50 Pro upper tuned for turf and 3G, not wet grass
• Turquoise shell with mint green panel and electric purple heel accents
• Short rubber nubs bite on grit, sand and frozen astro
• Runs about half a size long, so size down if you are between

Blunt warning first: the F50 Pro Laceless TF is a turf shoe and it will punish you on wet natural grass, so do not buy it expecting a do-everything boot. On the gritty 3G cages and the frozen astro most of us actually play on, though, it makes a strange amount of sense. The laceless throat on this Pro tier is softer than the Elite version, more of a stretchy sock than a hard compression band, so it hugs the midfoot instead of strangling it, and after roughly nine hours of five-a-side I had no heel slip and no bite blisters - which is more than I can say for the last two laceless boots I tested.

Colorway-wise, this thing is genuinely loud. Turquoise does the heavy lifting under floodlights, the mint green panel on the lateral side keeps it from looking like one flat slab of colour, and the electric purple bits only really announce themselves when the light catches the heel. It is the kind of boot that gets noticed in a Tuesday night league match, which is either the entire point or a problem, depending on your personality.

Where it earns its money is the outsole. The rubber nubs are short, dense and slightly cupped, so on grit and sand they bite the moment you push off, and the forefoot plate stays stiff enough that sprinting through the middle of a cage never feels like running in slippers. Touch on the synthetic upper is crisp rather than plush - you feel the ball instead of sinking into it - and the printed graphic has survived wet turf sessions fine, though the pale mint panel does collect surface grime. Wear them straight out of the box, there is almost no break-in period.
